An audience member of a speaking event at Virginia Tech Institute featuring Daily Wire honcho and lawyer Ben Shapiro opened up a can of worms when she asked speaker Shapiro about his debunking of the term “white privilege” and why he thinks minority groups have more privileges than whites in some cases.
Clearly hoping that she had boxed him in, this audience member was clearly disappointed that Shapiro had a ready, spirited response to her question.
For those who need a little background, many so-called “social justice warriors” (SJWs) happily speak of white privilege as a catch-all term to blame the discrimination of minority groups on. By using the self-created term “white privilege,” they hope to lump together several disparate groups — white people, rich people, straight people and perhaps, spoiled people — into one convenient category and label them with a term that’s supposed to explain all prejudices against any group they feel has ever been discriminated against or wronged.
These SJWs feel that people who are endowed with “white privilege” have subconsciously been harming minorities ever since birth and in many cases aren’t even aware that they do so. They claim that society gives so-called “white-privileged” people a free pass to do so because their innate qualities equate with being right and occupying the moral high ground.
But if you watch this clip, you can see how Shapiro quickly turns the tables on this audience member and cites just a few examples of how some minorities actually enjoy more privileges than white people do.
