Democrats Introduce New Law to Try to Impeach Donald Trump

It’s open partisan warfare in Washington as Congressional Democrats led by Senator Elizabeth Warren are attempting to create legislation that would strengthen conflict-of-interest laws and force President-Elect Donald Trump — under penalty of impeachment — to divest himself of many of his assets and place those funds in a blind trust. Any violation of the law would automatically subject Trump to impeachment proceedings under the U.S. Constitution.

This legal obligation would create a huge headache for Trump and force him to sell or reduce his involvement in many of his companies and business ventures. These could include his hotels, real estate companies, golf courses, television properties like The Apprentice and even apparel that’s branded with his name.

Of course, the chances of this legislation going anywhere in the Republican-controlled House and Senate are little to none, but just the drafting of the bill allows Democrats to claim moral high ground, even though it’s a near-certainty Congressional Republicans would likely have done something similar as regards the Clinton Foundation and all of the Clintons’ related companies if Hillary Clinton had won the election.

This futile exercise in hypocrisy is just further proof of the Democrats’ sour grapes over the election, and it’s likely that Senator Warren’s tirades against Donald Trump are only just beginning. To get a full report on the Democrats war on Trump check out the video.
