Not everyone is going to be happy with the end of an election. Not everyone is going to win and there will be a losing side. When Obama won the presidency in 2008, people didn’t burn cars or riot in cities. Not everyone was pleased, but the vast majority of Americans decided to at least give Obama a chance. After all, that is really what everyone should do.
If the President of the United States fails, the country fails, so someone who hopes the president fails is against America. Unfortunately people are not giving Donald Trump a chance. The man hasn’t even stepped into the Oval Office (officially) yet, but people around the country are protesting him, coming up with a ridiculous hashtag of “#notmypresident” and all sorts of other nonsense.
If people don’t like what he does as a president it is their U.S. right to protest peacefully. It is what makes this country great. What doesn’t make this country great is when people refuse to give someone a chance. That is completely un-American.
That is why the founder of BET (Black Entertainment Television) came out and urged every single American to give President Trump a chance.
Lambasting the man and complaining about him before he does anything is not good for anyone. Hopefully those people who are protesting (and likely many of them didn’t even vote at all) listen and allow Donald Trump to do his work in office. Watch BET Founder Bob Johnson talk about his meeting with Donald Trump and why he hopes Black Americans will give him a chance.
