Hillary Clinton is Proof that God Must Really, Really Love Us

The church in America has a terrible tendency to squander the opportunities that God puts before us. This has been a trend in the US that began with the progressive revolution around the globe in the early 1900s. That revolution had drastic results in some nations (the former Soviet Union) but was less successful in others (the United States).

Unlike other nations where the rule of law has descended into mob rule, followed by authoritarian dictatorship, America still has the opportunity to elect a representative government. Why are so many Christians still squandering this opportunity, while complaining about America’s degraded culture?

The word “culture” derives from the same Latin word for “cultivate.” Thinking about farming and cultivating the soil is an easy metaphor for considering culture. A farmer who fails to plant seed on time, or who does not tend to his crops, will have a failed harvest. Because ancient Israel was an agricultural society, the Scriptures are filled with verses related to planting, harvesting and tending crops and vineyards. “He who tills his land will have plenty of food, but he who follows empty pursuits will have poverty in plenty.” (Proverbs 28:19)

Likewise, when it comes to “culture,” the seeds that we plant today will grow into a future harvest; failure to plant seeds means that our children and grandchildren may inherit poverty in plenty. The debauched “hookup” culture of casual sex that we see harvested on college campuses today was planted during the sexual revolution of the 1960s, for example.

This biblical way of looking at culture and life expressed by the Canadian farmer Nelson Henderson, a veteran of World War I, in the famous quote, “The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”

Far too many Christians look at images of the Bushes and the Clintons socializing with each other and think, “There is no point in voting.” How many times have you heard a fellow Christian express something along these lines: “I don’t vote or get involved in politics because I believe God wants me to do X?”

Or they say, “I don’t vote because I just trust in God to handle all of that and take care of me.” This is cultural fatalism and has nothing to do with Christianity.

This is not to say that the X listed above, whatever ministry calling that a Christian is engaged in is unimportant. Far from it. But voting takes about 30 minutes of your time, once every two years. Such a tiny sacrifice for an act that can have ripple effects for decades to come.

Many Christians are repulsed by politics when they see corrupt, power-hungry figures like Hillary Clinton. As we have chronicled previously, Mrs. Clinton is literally a witch. She belongs to an international coven known as “The Wing.” She most recently made headlines for telling CNN that the current wave of political violence in America will only end when Democrats are in control of the House and Senate. Having lost the 2016 election, Mrs. Clinton now believes in Chairman Mao’s political power from the barrel of a gun – and she has the pantsuit to prove it!

Instead of being repelled away from the ballot box by figures like Hillary Clinton, her very existence should propel us to vote. We have seen the nightmares that such corrupt figures can impose on a society. Why give her party the chance to do so?

If a pastor tells his flock they should not vote in American elections, because they should be “focused on the spiritual world,” this is a denial of Scripture. Noah’s second act after the flood, after he built an altar to God, was to start cultivating. (Genesis 9:20) He didn’t “focus on the spiritual” to the detriment of future generations.

We witnessed the equivalent of a political miracle in 2016. God sent Donald Trump to overturn the Satanic march toward Marxism in America. Will we squander that victory by refusing to participate in the 2018 midterms? President Trump’s impeachment is a certainty if Hillary Clinton’s party controls the House of Representatives.

Christians should not look at figures like Hillary Clinton and view her as a sign that we should avoid politics. We should view her as proof that God really, really loves us – and wants us to vote. He never sends us trials in the hope that we will run away and hide. He sends us trials in the hope that we will rise to the occasion and cultivate for the future, for His glory.
