There has been no hiding Hollywood’s general opposition to Trump’s campaign. For the most part, celebrities have been viciously liberal for decades. So, while it may be easy to look at the reactions and feel smug or gratified, that outlook misses the real opportunity here.
The eruption of celebrity tweets decrying America for electing Trump actually points out a few good things. First, America has outgrown its reliance on manipulative media output, much of which is led by major celebrities. They did their best and the people spoke in a loud voice that Americans will no longer fall for those tactics.
What is much more inspiring is the theme in so many of these tweets. While the few steadfast Trump supporters offered reasonable congratulations, the general outcry from celebrities is that they will fight for their causes and the changes they want to see without the help of the U.S. government. Finally!
It took a bitter election cycle and the rise of Donald Trump, but the progressives might at long last realize that making America great again was never about government programs. It’s about getting the government out of the way so the people will be empowered to make this nation what it can be.
So, when you watch the video, resist reveling in the overreactions and spectacle of it all, and instead cherish that this is the first step to a better America.
