Kanye West has always been someone who commands attention. Whether you love him or hate him, he has a way of taking to center stage (even when the stage belongs to someone else). Now, as a celebrity performer, most people would assume he votes Democrat and leans towards the left, because that generally is how it goes in and around Hollywood.
However, Kanye West completely shocked a crowed when last week, at one of his concerts, he stopped performing all of a sudden to talk politics. During his 10 minute plus rant he stated his support for Donald Trump.
During a performance last week in San Jose, California, which is right outside of San Francisco, one of the most liberal cities in the entire country, Kanye West stated that while he did not vote in this election, he would have voted for Donald Trump.
Now, some might criticize him for not voting, but when living in California, a Republican vote is not going to go anywhere.
So what else did Kanye West say about the election?
He stated that he believed Donald Trump’s approach to the election was “absolutely genius.” Of course, this did bring up all sorts of cheers and boos from the crowd.
It also had him come out and state that he may just run for the presidency in 2020. While stating his possible run for presidency may be more of an attention grabbing line than anything else, the fact that he stated he would have voted for Trump is an attention grabber in itself.
