One of the most disturbing narratives coming from the left these days is anti-military rhetoric. Prominent liberals have called the U.S. Military a waste of money, dangerous warmongers and even an elaborate welfare program.
Let’s put that to rest. First, the politicians decide the military budget and any action taken, so they are responsible for the first two scenarios. As memory serves, Democrats have been in charge of the military for the last eight years, and look at how that has gone.
More importantly, it’s easy to live a pampered American life and forget how necessary the brave sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces have been. The deaths have not been in vain, primarily because they have successfully protected the American people from terrorism.
A few specific cases have become declassified in the last few years, but even without that, one only has to look at the sharp rise of terrorism in Europe to see just how successful the U.S. Military has been.
Germany is now encouraging every citizen to stockpile resources in preparation for devastating levels of terrorism. That you haven’t been asked to do the same is hard evidence of the success of military efforts, and it proves without a doubt just how necessary they really are.
