While the Obama administration continues to deny it, it appears increasingly likely that the January airlift of $400 million in cash to Iran (that the White House now claims was part of money owed to the country) was tied to the release of four American hostages the Middle Eastern nation was holding.
One of those hostages, Christian pastor Saeed Abedini, confirmed that Iranian officials held up the takeoff of the detained Americans’ jet at the Mehrabad airport in Tehran while authorities there waited on “another plane” to arrive.
The other plane in question now appears to have been the unmarked cargo transport containing pallets of cash from the U.S. government to Iran whom the State Department calls the world’s biggest sponsor of terrorism.
Abedini clearly states that his jet was ready to go and that all preparations for the flight had been made before he and his fellow detainees were kept waiting at the airport.
Donald Trump has attacked Hillary Clinton over her help in crafting the Obama administration’s deals with the terror-sponsoring regime during her tenure as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, adding further weight to the argument that she must be prevented from attaining office in November.
