Late last night, after many Americans went to bed, Hillary Clinton admitted defeat when she realized the path to victory was not going to fall in her favor.
The Associated Press was the first major news network to call the election in favor of Donald Trump at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump about 10 minutes after that announcement to concede the presidential race.
Obviously too distraught to speak, Hillary sent her campaign manager John Podesta to what was supposed to be her victory rally to send her supporters home for the night, promising the Democratic nominee would speak to them early the next morning.
After hearing from Secretary Clinton, Donald Trump took the stage at his own victory rally to deliver his own speech to a packed house of supporters in a New York hotel.
