End time prophecies have led people all over the world to draw some unusual conclusions and even form cults. Some are based on unique readings of Christian scripture and other religious texts.
The headlines pop up from time to time that the world as we know it is coming to an end. But, those end dates keep rolling past. That’s why Christians are so interested in a concrete understanding of the rapture.
In this A Day in the Word weekly Bible study segment posted on YouTube, host Jon Jorgenson answers a serious question from a follower, one many Christians want to know more about. “What does the Bible actually teach about the second coming of Christ?”
In the high-energy fashion Jorgenson has earned a reputation for, he takes a close look at what the Bible teaches. In passages such as Matthew 24, Hebrews 9, 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and others, Jorgenson preaches that these passages talk about Christ’s return.
Jorgenson explains that this is an understanding pulled from different teachings. The Bible doesn’t actually use the word “rapture.” And, the end times also includes elements of a “tribulation,” “Millennium,” and other important considerations.
Unpackaging these Bible-based teachings can be challenging for everyday Christians. Fortunately, ministries such as Jorgenson’s help guide Christians to a peaceful understanding.
