The FBI “investigated” Hillary earlier this year. When they refused to press charges against her, it made it clear to the whole world that her corruption had cast shade even on the FBI. No logical person has believed for a moment that the situation was ethically resolved, and there was undoubtedly pressure from the top to keep the case out of trial.
With the sheer cascade of leaks that have come to light since, one can only conclude that the FBI is now under new pressure. There seems to be sufficient leverage to force the case to be reopened, or maybe new evidence has come to light that will make the previous findings even more dubious.
Whatever the case, there is only one way for the agency to redeem itself. It needs to conduct a proper investigation this time and present the evidence to the courts. It is not up to the director to decide who has violated the law.
Every literate person in the world is aware of Hillary’s wrongdoing. She and her people have been caught red handed destroying evidence and colluding.
Sometimes people get a second chance in this world, and for FBI Director Comey, his best road is to remove himself from arbitration as much as possible. If a court exonerates Hillary, then at least the blame won’t fall back on the FBI.
